BHMS, as a member of Bénédict, Switzerland, is part of one of the largest education group in Europe and is based in Switzerland. We are one of only a few hotel schools in Switzerland that enjoy an urban setting, in one of the most beautiful cities of Switzerland and located in the geographic center of the country. Excellently connected by rail to any destination in Europe, Lucerne is only 60 minutes away from Zurich International Airport. Swiss cities continue to dominate around the globe with the best quality of life. Currently we have 150 students in residency and 150 students in internship at any given time and with eight intakes per year. This guarantees maximum enrollment flexibility and internship availability for potential employers, and hence we enjoy one of the highest placement rates of all Swiss schools.
BHMS offers tailor-made Diploma, Culinary and Degree programs, while learning either German or French at the same time. All Diploma programs are certified by EduQua, a Swiss guarantor for Further Education and offer a one year Bachelor program in Lucerne, in conjunction with the Robert Gordon University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK’s top university for graduate employment! We also offer a two year MBA Degree also offered here in Lucerne but in conjunction with the City University of Seattle, WA USA, giving students the benefit of an American education but in a European setting. These two years are comprised of 12 months of academics and 12 months of full-time employment at very reasonable prices. This option even allows many students to finance a part of their education. We are furthermore accredited by EURHODIP, the European Hotel School Association based in Brussels, Belgium and are a member in good standing with CHRIE as well as the IH&RA, the International Hotel & Restaurant Association.
Currently, our school is also the only American Culinary Federation Foundation Commission accredited school in Europe. All our programs contain a required six month Swiss internship component, allowing successful students to apply what they have learned at school in a fully functioning Swiss hospitality setting and who receive full compensation for that learning experience.
We feel this is a perfect, well-rounded addition to any hospitality program by giving students valuable experience in the renowned Swiss hospitality industry. We feel “if you can make it here, you will make it anywhere” and instill Swiss virtues in the process. BHMS also offers full admission services that include Embassy interviewing assistance, full documentation assistance, admission guidance, airport pick-up service and individual student attention, feasible only with our small school concept.
